The Architectural Control Committee's purpose is to review for approval any changes to exterior buildings, appearance alterations, building additions, site improvements, landscape plans and all other elements which affect the appearance of a home or home-site.

Tom Capodicasa - Chair
Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, moved to Summerwood with his wife in March of 2017.
He is an Electrical and Technology Engineer for a firm in uptown charlotte. Tom has served on the ACC since May 2019 and currently holds the position as chairman. “I love living in the Summerwood community and look forward to raising my family here”
Ed Benjamin - Co-Chair
Benjamin, a Philadelphia, PA native, moved to Summerwood with his family in November of 2018 after spending nine years in Iowa City, Iowa. A career banker, Ed is currently a VP, Private Bank Mortgage Underwriter with an international bank. Ed has served on the homeowner’s association of another Charlotte community and led its covenant committee’s efforts to revise the HOA’s covenants. Ed has served on Summerwood’s Architectural Controls Committee since December of 2019.
Ann Carney
A native Hoosier, spent 40 years in Northern Virginia before moving to Summerwood in September 2017 with her two pipe organs and two cats. She retired after 31 years as organist in a large Alexandria parish, and still plays occasionally as a substitute. She is a member of the Mint Hill Women’s Club and South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, and has served on the ACC since December 2019.
