The FIREWISE USA® program is designed to teach people how to adapt to living with the risk of wildfire and to increase their home’s chance of survival through proactive actions, while encouraging neighbors to work together to reduce losses and damage.
Anchors Landing was certified as a Firewise Community in December 2019. To maintain our certification, we are required to:
- Establish a community Action Plan to provide continual wildfire risk reduction and update the plan every three years at a minimum
- Conduct a minimum of one wildfire risk reduction educational outreach event or related activity annually
- Invest a minimum of one hour per dwelling unit in wildfire risk reduction actions annually
- Update the Risk Assessment Document at least every five years
